Windows Vista beta - build 5744.16384

In case you didn’t know, Microsoft just released Windows Vista build 5744.16384 - the release which is also called RC2 - on https://connect.microsoft.com, but this is only for beta testers right now.

According to different sources a more “public” release will arrive very soon - like MSDN, “second-wave beta testers” and perhaps others…

We still don’t need new keys!

The ISO files you need are the following:
0×523B6D3A:
vista_5744.16384.061003-1945_x86fre_client-LRMCFRE_EN_DVD.iso

0×0F8131AB:
vista_5744.16384.061003-1945_x64fre_client-LRMCxFRE_EN_DVD.iso

Have a nice testing time - I’m downloading as I write, simply can’t wait to check out this thing :)

EDIT:
The release is now available to the public - all you need is a key (or you will only have Vista in a trial period of 14 days I beleive), go here to download:

3D Haunted Dungeon Screensaver

In 3D Haunted Dungeon, haunting Halloween sounds foreshadow a creepy dungeon scene. As the doors slowly open, we see scary ghosts haunt the windows of a medieval dungeon. A skeleton dances to spooky music and bats fly in the foreground. Skeletons in shackles swing from the ceiling while rats scurry on the floor amid skulls, bones, and medieval armor and weapons. Fire pits guard the front entrance. Contains animated gif images and sound files. Password protection is available. Registered version doesn’t have the overlay text and never expires. No adware, spyware, surveys, data collection, toolbars, opt-out, or opt-in offers or…

Convert To A Dynamic Disk In Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 supports two different types of disks: basic disks and dynamic disks. All disk devices added to a computer are basic disks until they are converted to dynamic. You may be asking why you would want to convert to your disks from basic to dynamic. Well the answer is that dynamic disks include features that are not available under basic disks such as the ability to create volumes that span multiple disks and the ability to extend a volume. It is a relatively simple process to convert from basic to dynamic. You can do so through the Computer…

Using The Run As Feature In Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2003 supports the Run As feature. This allows you to run a program under a different user account than the one that is actually logged onto the computer. Before you can use this feature a specific service must be running. In Windows Server 2003, this is the Secondary Logon service. You can verify that the start up type for these services is set to automatic using the steps below. Right click My Computer and click Manage Expand Services and Applications. Select Services. In the right pane, double click the appropriate service depending on what version of Windows you…

4Domains

I’ve been running a Web site business on the side since 1998. It’s been a fun, profitable venture. One thing I’ve learned is to find a good hosting service and stick with it. I signed up with some funky Italian service in 1998, and ended up threatening it with exposure on Family First if it didn’t refund my prorated annual fee after it reneged on our original agreement. (The company caved.)…
