Thus in addition to comprising many news very interesting functionalities Vista prepares the ground of its successor.

Vienna Windows

Windows Vienna is in fact the name of the next operating system of Microsoft. Final version will replace XP and Vista completely. In Vienna, all will be different; it will be an entirely reorganized system. None the software turning under Windows XP or Vista will be able to function (note of jb there: that was to be the case with Vista, but Microsoft with fact half-turn in way history not of not disturbing its users too much).

Ultimate Windows Vista ScreenSaver For your PC

A top notch Windows Vista screensaver is coming to your desktop, not from Microsoft’s Ultimate Extras website, but courtesy of the design firm Jackson Fish Market.

You have been able to read recently of a new Microsoft search project and experiment dubbed Tafiti. Essentially, Tafiti is a marriage between Live Search and Silverlight and an interesting approach all the way. In terms of an alternative perspective over search, Tafiti offers users the Tree View. A fully animated tree environment with orbiting search results. And believe it or not, this is the best that Microsoft has to offer in terms of screensavers for Windows Vista since the launch of the operating system. Because the Live Search/Silverlight Tree View is designed to act as a dynamic desktop screensaver.

“In the simplest terms, the Tafiti tree view is a screensaver. We haven’t done the work (yet?) to wire it into the machines actual screensaver mechanism, but we think about it as a passive way to browse more deeply into search results. (…) As the tree spins, the leaves start to turn fall-like. And as each leaf turns from orange to red it finally reaches an end point,…

Erase Your Data Securely without Any Recovery option

When you delete a file, it is not gone forever, and any file removed from the Recycle Bin can be easily recovered! The Windows delete function does not clear the space where the deleted file has been located but only marks an entry in the directory (folder) as deleted. All data and information about the file still remains on the disk and can be restored! Old data will be available until another file overwrites it (uses the same space on the disk). The only way to prevent data from being recovered is to overwrite it.

I’ve seen tools that is able to wipe out hard drives entirely to prevent people from recovering any files and also tools that can delete a particular file and that file can’t be recovered anymore. For the first time I am seeing an innovative FREE tool which is able to scan your hard drive and only make the recoverable files UNRECOVERABLE. Meaning it won’t touch any of your existing files.

Disk Redactor is a COMPLETE WIPE utility that lets you securely erase any old ( deleted ) files and prevent them from being recovered. All your private sensitive insecurely…

How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista

I thought this article will help people to troubleshoot slowdowns in the windows boot process:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135

But it will only help in cases where services of installed programs cause the slowdowns.

You can disable startup apps and see if the slowdown is caused by one of them.

If a driver is slowing down the boot process, you can check if safemode works fine, because Windows will not be loading drivers (except the ones that are really needed to get the system up and running).
