How to Make Your Computer Faster? Read This Tips!!

Do you want to know how to make your computer faster? I have great ideas how to make your computer faster and you can now save yourself from aggravation think of your computer problem especially when you are working with your computer. Here are my some tips to make your computer faster.

1. Delete all files on your temporary files, temp and cookies from the computer can make your computer faster and stable.

Follow these steps:

Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders

C:\Documents and Settings\your computer’s name\Cookies

C:\Documents and Settings\your computer’s name\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files

C:\Documents and Settings\your computer’s name\Local Settings\Temp

2. I suggest you do disk clean up once a week to free up space on your hard disk. Use Disk Cleanup tool to help you remove downloaded program files, empty the recycle bin, remove optional windows components that you are not using etc.

You can start Disk Cleanup, by:

Start > Run > type cleanmgr > OK or Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Cleanup or In My Computer > right-click the disk > Properties > General > Disk Cleanup

3. Take your time to defrag your computer at least once two weeks but I think it is better if you defrag your computer once a week. Use Disk Defragmenter tool to help your puts your data back into sequential order and making it easier for your operating system (Windows) to access it. As a result, the performance of your computer will increase and more efficient.

Start > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragmenter

4. Always check your system to make sure your system has no errors. Check and fix your system using Scandisk and that will make your computer run faster.

My Computer > Right Click on drive C >Properties > Tools > Check Now > Automatically fix file system errors > Start

5. Use MSConfig tool to make you computer start-up faster and crashes less.

6. Uninstall unwanted programs on your computer to free up your system resources such as memory and disk space.

Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

7. I suggest you avoid opening too many programs at the same time. Only open programs that you really want and this will make your computer faster and run smoothly.

8. Removing spyware and adware from your computer. Spyware and adware are often downloaded onto your computer without your knowledge and these will cause your computer slow.

Tips: Install spyware/adware removal program (such asAd-Aware 2007 and Spybots) on your computer and make sure you always update your anti-virus.

9. Always make sure that all your programs has the latest updates on your computer.

10. Use registry repair software such as Tune UP Utilities to improve quality performance of your computer.

Clear Windows memory without restarting

If you are running windows based computer you’ll know, like many others than after a while your system will in doubt start running slow. Most people will restart their computer to remove and idle processes. But if there’s a simpler way, why restart every time windows decides it doesn’t like you today?

1. Right click on an empty spot on your desktop and select New - Shortcut.

2. Type %windir%\system32\rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks in the box.

3. Click Next.

4. Give your shortcut a nice name like “Clear Memory”.

5. Click Finish and you’re done.

Now whenever your computer starts running slow click this shortcut to clear out your memory and get your computer running at a normal pace again.
