L'Outlook (et plusieurs autres clients d'email) te permettent d'inclure papeterie ou fonds d'image dans votre message d'email à robe vers le haut le regard de vos messages d'email. Actuellement, Gmail ne rend pas ces images comme prévues. Lu dessus pour certaines de mes pensées au sujet de papeterie….

Je n'ai vraiment jamais compris l'aspiration des fonds d'image ou de la papeterie dans des messages d'email. Autre que te permettre d'injecter un peu d'individualité dans un message, quel but il vraiment serveur ? Je les trouve personnellement distraire typiquement, pas tellement les images elles-mêmes, mais le contenu choisi. Certains sont élégants et satisfaisants de regarder, mais les autres sont juste distraction plate. (plus…)

PowerTOP est un outil de Linux qui trouve les composants de logiciel qui font votre ordinateur portable employer plus de puissance que nécessaire tandis qu'elle est à vide. As of Linux kernel version 2.6.21, the kernel no longer has a fixed 1000Hz timer tick. This will (in theory) give a huge power savings because the CPU stays in low power mode for longer periods of time during system idle.

However… there are many things that can ruin the party, both inside the kernel and in userspace. PowerTOP combines various sources of information from the kernel into one convenient screen so that you can see how well your system is doing, and which components are the biggest problem. (more…)

Well my fellow Lazy Admins, things have certainly been rocking and rolling around here. Even though the post count is a little lower than we liked, we now have a few new TLA regulars. Marco Shaw will be keeping you on the up and up around PowerShell. He has even started up a Virtual PowerShell usergroup.

This week both the original Lazy Admin and the even lazier replacement (me!) will be hanging out in Toronto at SecTor. This is a really exciting event, and I have been looking forward to it for many months now. To celebrate this inaugural event I will be posting about the event, and at the same time I will be highlighting some great new security features in Windows Server 2008.
