Clear Vista Theme - Free Download

Here’s another theme that is not heavily modified but still has some neat design features. All the elements of this theme flow together pretty good, but the creator really needs to choose his colors better. Even the background is a little too distracting for this theme. In the end, I think that this theme is still far better then anything Microsoft has ever designed.

Are you still using Windows XP? If you are, then you have to download the XP Theme Patcher. If you’re using Windows Vista, you don’t need the Theme Patcher.

Blue Spray Sidebar - Free Download

This is a neat calendar for Windows Vista. I like the splattered look along with the soft blue and gray colors. Even though the month and day are grammatically incorrect, it still looks cool. This would be perfect for any blue or black colored sidebar.

Windows XP : Increase Virtual Memory

Many times you would have encountered an annoying pop-up window many times, which notifies you that you are running on low virtual memory, and Windows is trying to increase it. If it happens once in a while, then its OK. Nothing to worry about. But if it happens repeatedly, then you need to take action, because now it has started affecting the performance of your PC.

How to optimize Virtual memory in Windows XP
A few simple steps.

1.Open Control Panel > System.
2.Click on Advanced tab.
3.Click the Settings button in the Performance panel.
4.Click the Advanced tab.
5.Click the Change button in the Virtual memory panel.
6.Now, you have two options. If you exactly about your system, you can choose the size of the virtual memory, otherwise select the System managed size option. It is safe.

Videocast - Securing Cached Credentials

One of the nice things with RODCs is the ability to control cached credentials.  You can also pre-populate passwords for specific users, like a branch office user, in case the branch office connection goes down but this can be a security concern if that server gets stolen.  Server 2008 has a nice way of handling this so you can sleep easier.  This last video will cover what to do when the RODC is stolen.

Note: Double-click on the video to go full screen.

Avoid Overloading CPU Power Distribution

Being the enthusiastic computer geeks that we are at times, we cannot help but overdo it when it comes to identifying and choosing the proper peripherals to place in our PC. Power supplies can only take so much and that is why there are specified power distributions to be able to handle all the circuits and conduits that need power each time you switch you computer on.

Normally, the default power allocation is enough to rev up your motherboard, monitor, hard disks and video cards. A couple of optical drives can also be thrown into the fray and you still have sufficient power not to fry your power supply.

But you just cannot help at times to add more to the power requirements. Adding other hard drives, another optical drive like a DVD writer or other peripherals that technology has to offer. In short, you will have a CPU that will be forever fighting for power and if they are falling short of power requirements, you may see added peripherals burning out or a busted power supply even.

That is why when you go to the usual computer shops, you will notice that there are power supplies with greater power capacity. This is precisely the reason; to be able to adhere towards additions that will not be seen in the default computer specifications. We all have our own demands and apparently this stems from the fact that we do not know when the perfect PC setup will be there for us. This is only typical in terms of demands.

How to remove PDF documents restrictions

Some PDF creator will add restrictions to the PDF documents to protect the contents from being copied or printed by users. Users still can print, copy and paste the PDF documents, if they have the passwords to unlock the documents.

However, with PDF Unlocker, you can easily remove these restrictions. After installing the application, a shortcut will appear on the dekstop. Simply drag and drop any PDF documents to PDF Unlocker’s icon and all restrictions will be removed.

If the PDF documents required password to open/read, you can use PDF Unlocker to remove the password. But, you need to know the password before unlock them.
