Some features in Outlook require you to use a Microsoft Exchange account. Exchange is an e-mail-based collaborative communications server for businesses. Licenses for Exchange can be purchased from Microsoft and its resellers. Exchange Services Provide Online Outlook Support and Email Support for the Outlook.
If your organization uses Exchange, but you do not know whether you have an account or how to use it, you must contact your organization's Help desk or network administrator for assistance.
Home users typically do not have an Exchange account; instead they use a POP3 e-mail account with an Internet service provider (ISP) (ISP: A business that provides access to the Internet for such things as electronic mail, chat rooms, or use of the World Wide Web. Some ISPs are multinational, offering access in many locations, while others are limited to a specific region.) or use a Web-based e-mail service, such as Windows Live Mail. If you use a POP3 (POP3: A common protocol that is used to retrieve e-mail messages from an Internet e-mail server.) e-mail account, your ISP can provide you with your specific account information. People without Exchange accounts cannot use the features in Outlook that require Exchange.

It is possible to have both Windows and Linux installed on the same machine and for them to happily coexist. This is known as a dual-boot setup. It has also become incredibly easy to set up such a system. I started out with a dual-boot setup; however, I eventually found that I used the Linux side of things exclusively. Having so much disk space being taken up by a Windows system I didn’t use seemed a waste of prime real estate, so eventually I just dumped the whole thing and went for a straight Linux-only setup. My feeling is that unless there is some application that you really need that is not available on the Linux side (probably some game), then go for the Linux-only setup and just forget about Windows. Linux has most of what you will need anyway, and because the applications in the OpenOffice.org office suite can read and write Microsoft Office files, you’ll still be able to collaborate with Windows users, if that is of concern to you.

If you are a parent who has issues as far as keeping your kids at home, get them a computer. One thing that makes kids go out often is that they are bored or have nothing to do. Normally with a computer, you can do business and personal things. Of the two, the kids will surely be wanting to discover new things such as games, browsing and of course advanced applications.

In a manner of speaking, you may call computers as saviors for people who want their children at home. But while that may be the case, you should still put a certain degree of discipline as far as time spent on the computer and when to rest. These days, kids tend to get too enthusiastic with technology that they spend most of their time on them and forget to do things such as chores and sleep.
