  If you have any of these files in running process from task manger, end the process before removal.
  Note: if task manager is disabled
  Download the following file [ Right click and select “Save Target as” ]
  Click to Download - Enable Registry.reg
  Open it with Regedit.exe [%system32\regedit.exe], then it Confirms Add to registry Yes or No, Confirm Yes, then click Ok.

Note: If the registry editor fails to open the threat may have modified the registry to prevent access to the registry editor.
Download UnHookExec.inf, [ Right click and select “Save Target as” ] and then continue with the removal.
Save it to your Windows desktop. Do not run it at this time, download it only.
After booting into the Safe Mode or VGA Mode
Right-click the UnHookExec.inf file and click Install. [This is a small file. It does not display any notice or boxes when you run it.]

Microsoft has announced the availability of their Windows Live ID utility which handles username and password management of various Windows Live Services such as Windows Live Home, Hotmail, Spaces to name a few.

What's new?

Through the online provider, the Sign-in Assistant helps a Windows 7 application running on one computer identify and communicate with other computers that are associated with the same Windows Live ID. Just by linking your Windows Live ID to the user account on each Windows 7 computer you own, you enable those computers to identify each other and work together more easily than has been possible in the past.

Windows 7 currently includes a new Credential Manager Control Panel item which handles username and password credentials for various websites other than Windows Live and computers that you may access on your network. I will take a look at it later this week, its very handy and is a cinch to backup and restore on new PC’s running Windows 7.

Win Antivirus Vista/XP is new rogue antispyware application, clone of another scamware named ASC-AntiSpyware. Parasite is promoted through the use of Trojan horses that generate fake security alerts on your computer. These alerts will state that your computer is seriously infected and your privacy is in danger. Important to notice, that these alerts are designed to be very similar to Windows security Centr ones.
Once Win Antivirus Vista/XP is installed it will automatically configure itself to run automatically every time you turn on your computer. Also it will perform system scan and list variety of infections that cannot be removed until you first purchase licensed version.
We strongly recommend you to remove Win Antivirus Vista/XP manually or using automatic removal tool.

How to remove Win Antivirus Vista/XP manually:
It's possible to remove Win Antivirus Vista/XP manually, but you have to be very experienced in dealing with registry entries, program files and .dll files.

The files to be deleted:

* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\buy.url
* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\help.url
* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\howtobuy.txt
* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\license.txt
* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\uninstall.exe
* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\WinAntivirusVistaXP.exe
* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\uninstall.exe
* %Program Files%\Win Antivirus Vista/XP\restart.exe


Remove registry entries:

* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Win Antivirus Vista/XP
* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Win Antivirus Vista/XP
* HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run “Win Antivirus Vista/XP”


Please be careful because manual removal of Win Antivirus Vista/XP may seriously damage operational system and sensitive data. Also there is a big possibility of incomplete removal, because some files could be hidden and program could re-install itself after you delete files and registry entries. So we strongly recommend you to use automatical removal tool.

A lot of people are making the switch from Virtual Server to Hyper-V lately.  I’ve done it on my home network and Thelazyadmin.com servers are in progress of moving to Hyper-V as well.  While you can simply copy over the VHD and create a new VM in Hyper-V and mounting that VHD there is a tool that can help you with this task.  VMC2HV is a free tool that can be used to import a Virtual Server (or VirtualPC) based VM into Hyper-V.  It is a pretty simple tool to use, specify the name and credentials for your Hyper-V server, choose the VMC file of the machine you want to import and click Create Virtual Machine.

A few things to note when using this tool…

• Once the migration is complete you will have to uninstall the VMAdditions and install the Integration Components.
• Installing the Integration Components will update the HAL so going back to Virtual Server/PC will be difficult
• Hyper-V will not boot from virtual SCSI so you will have to move the VMs boot drive to the virtual IDE bus
• You can run this tool on X86 and x64 installs of Windows Vista and Server 2008, locally or remotely from the Hyper-V server.
