Looking for a good deal on an Awesome AMD System?

Well, here you go!

Here she is:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260367757551

You ever get something you just didn’t like for some reason, but can’t put your finger on? Well, this is how I’ve been with this system…

I really don’t know what it is - the performance is great, it looks awesome, but I just don’t like it, and I’ve beat myself up over it with “Man I wish I’d gotten this, or that, or something else…”

Ever been like that about something?

I got the “upgrade bug” and I was just in too big of a hurry to pull the trigger on *SOMETHING*…*ANYTHING*…

Anyway my major annoyances are sound - gawd this thing is loud. It actually wouldn’t be if my Mom didn’t keep it like 90 degrees upstairs to keep it 75 downstairs - I have to keep the fans jacked up on high to keep it cool…

Also, it’s dusty - I have a dusty house (not intentional, it’s just been “dusty” since I’ve lived here - you have to keep up with it), plus I have two dogs…and this case is so perforated, it’s like a giant vacuum cleaner - I’m on my 3rd can of air in a month.

If it doesn’t sell…oh well, I’ll live with it. If it does, I actually will probably just “beef up” my Core2 system - maybe with a sweet case (it’s in a $29.99 Tiger Direct special now) and a better video card. I might even buy a Core2Quad to stick on that board (it’s a good board) and pick up a cheapo MiniATX board and case to make a HTPC out of the e4600 that’s in it now. OR…I might get a Mac (who knows?).

I really did a “major upgrade” way too soon (or not with high-end enough parts) - I couldn’t tell much difference in performance over the old system w/ the new (except in a few Multi-threaded, CPU Bound benchmarks), and I just never got that “Wow” factor (like I did when I saw a friends new Core i7 run 3DMark)…

Just posting here in case y’all know someone that could use a good deal on an awesome little “Budget Gamer” or even a solid workstation that will handle practically anything you want to throw at it.

More WIM2VHD videos on the way… but how many?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been working on putting together a new set of videos for WIM2VHD, but I’ve run into a bit of a problem.

I’m creating a video that goes through and explains the different command line options for WIM2VHD, but the end result, even after editing and re-encoding, is too large for me to upload to any of the video hosting providers that I want to use.

I could try to cut some more space out of the existing video, but it occurred to me that perhaps I should ask all of you what would work better for you.

Should I have one big video that explains all of the options, or should I have a very small video for each of the options?

Please leave a comment and let me know which you’d prefer.

Mamiya Blog

Gary e-mailed me after I started the C330F Review (which I hope to finish tonight) with regard to this gem of a medium format camera. Well, he has a great blog himself looking at photography from the world of Mamiya.

As I have grown very fond of my C330F, there is a chance I’ll also invest in a 6×7 system such as the Mamiya RB/RZ67. Click the logo to follow on to his great blog:

He’s also the US distributor so why not check out www.mamiya.com whilst you’re at it?
