32 bit vista sp1 showing 4GB

Ram is getting Cheaper Everyday. Becuse of this reason more people are equipping their PCs with 4GB RAM or more.
Actually 32 Bit Operating Systems should support 232 bytes = 4GB Ram. However, the maximum amount of RAM that can be used by the system and applications is 3.12 GB.

My friend Mr. Girish N.G has installed 2 GB+ 2 GB DDR 2 RAM. He had Windows Vista 32 bit ( Build 6000). But in the System properties it was showing only 3 GB RAM. He tried upgrading to Service Pack 1 . Then finally it showed 4 GB. So he concluded that Windows Vista final version can read only 3 GB Ram and the same can be increased to 4 GB if one upgrades to Vista SP1. One important point to be remembered here is that the motherboard BIOS should support that 4 GB Ram .
