Do not delete the contents of the prefetch folder. This is a myth based on a complete misunderstanding of how prefetch works. Informed users have known about this for a long time, yet the myth continues to be spread by people who have absolutely no idea how prefetch works. Manual deletion of prefetch files will impair performance and has no benefits. In any event the folder is self cleaning after 128 entries. This has been extensively tested.
