Assign Folders A Specific Drive Letter
This tip it’s for your own tweaky fingers and to satisfy my tweaky fingers too plus it gives another boost to our productivity level. This time we’re gonna assign Folders a specific Drive Letter which makes it more interesting so the next time you use it or access your folder you can just easily search for the assigned folder drive.
- Click on the Start Orb -> then Click Run to go the Run Dialog box
- On the Run Dialog Box -> type CMD
- On the Command Prompt -> type subst drive folder (for example : I want to assign my music folder a specific drive letter J so this what it should look like) ” subst J: C:\users\Windows\mymusic”
- Exit the Command Prompt
Now that’s easy, but that’s a temporary fix when you power of your computer and/or restarted your computer the effect wears off. Want a lasting effect try making these commands with your notepad and saving the file as DRIVEFOLDERS.bat
Make a shortcut of DRIVEFOLDERS.bat and copy it on your startup folder
