Hey i think i got rid of it ! It hasnt shown its ugly face for a while nor can i find traces of it.
it’s all in
c:\programdata\adsl software limited
That whole file seems to be it but you cant just delete it first you open it up and a few folders appear delete as many as you can from what i can remember there was one called BASE and SAVED and mal warrior and others delete them. The malwarrior wont delete so i renemed it then dragged it to my desktop than i tried to delete it but it wont let me so i restared the computer and then it let me. Then go back to c:\programdata\adsl software limited and delete that whole thing and that should be it.
been a few hours now and had no problems before every 20-30 seconds something would pop up and the computer was slow now its all cool !!!

ok i am to the point where it wont let me open my task manager…it tells me it has been disabled by the administrator…yet this is the administrative account…any help?

I found a utility to re-instate the task manager simple download
but still haven’t got rid of the damn thing .

I have never been so mad! I was online and all of a sudden this program was loading on my computer! It kept telling me that I had terriable issues. I clicked on my Norton and scanned and it came up as no issues. BUT, I can not get this thing off my computer. Folks do not buy this thing. I did not buy this, it was loading up and I could not stop IT……

I tried removing all the files but for some reason, I could remove every single thing I had from the lists above but I was never able to get rid of wininet.dll in system32 shlwapi.dll in system32 also. Any idea why?

This is great information, however, I cant use it. This nasty virus disables access to the Task Manager which I have tried to go around by logging into safe mode as the administrator; Same thing, no access to the manager.

I’m pretty well versed with these kind of issues, but I’m at a loss to exactly what move I should make next. Too bad there isn’t ENOUGH documentation to take care of this issue in an efficient manner.

Great stuff mate. Had a dodgy Office 2003 Pro version on and needed to put fully legal key in and was a little (VERY) stuck!! Worked a treat. I owe ya a pint :)

The instructions start with disabling it using the task manager - however the task manager is disabled by the spyware, saying “System admin has disabled the task manager”…

I fell for this also but I got rid of the pop up by going to SYSTEM RESTORE and backdated my computer to a date before the pop up appeared. It worked for me.

Odd for me, it worked for a while, but after reapplying vmware tools upgrade, the mouse was disfunctional until I changed the driver option from vmmouse to mouse. Vista Business, VMware workstation 6.0.3 build-80004, ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron.

This happens to me several times a day on a Dell Vostro 1700. Every time I unplug my dual monitor to go to meetings the taskbar dissapears. Something as fundemental as this should have been fixed BEFORE the Vista release, much less a year after!
