The joy of Chrome's "recently closed pages" list on the new tab page was that if you closed something by accident you could unclose it. Currently I have over 20 tabs open (researching for an article), I just accidentally closed one of them, I have no idea even what it was but it was probably important or I would have closed it when I was done with it. The history page is no help here as I don't know what I closed or when I opened it. The "recently closed pages" list was a lifesaver here. I don’t think you quite understand the question.
