How to Fix Low ‘Virtual Memory’ warning on Windows Vista

If your system gets a low 'Virtual Memory' warning on Windows Vista then it means that you have so many programs running at the same time and your temporary space in your hardisk called paging file is not enough. Virtual memory is use to compensate if your RAM is not enough.

1. Go to System Properties (Win Key + Pause/Break) > Advance System Settings > Advanced Tab > Performance > Advanced Tab > Virtual Memory

2. At the Top uncheck "Automatically Manage Paging Files" and select "Custom Size"

3. Now Select the drive that you want to change the paging file settings.

4. Now under Custom Size enter any size you want your pagefile to be.Both values can be of same size to make the size of pagefile.sys static.

5. To move the paging file to another drive, click on No paging file radio button, and click on Set button. Then select a different drive to set a new pagefile.sys with custom size or system managed size.

To disable paging file or virtual memory, simply set no paging files on all drives.
