<description>To quote you: "Windows Live Messenger 8.5 remains compatible and supported on 64-bit versions of Windows Vista." This has not been the case for me. Actually, no versions of Windows Live Messenger will run on Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit... The first time it runs, will be fine, and then, after it is closed (fully), it will never open again. All it will do is crash at run-time and check with Microsft for a solution. You cannot even install updates to it as the unified installer will not run with another error at run-time. Microsoft has no record of this problem, so I assume they do not intend to fix it. If anyone can help me out with this, it would be much appreciated, as I am going crazy running it in compatibility mode for Windows NT 4.0 (Service Pack 5).

I cannot use my webcam or microphone as this compatibility mode does not support those options and transparencies in the emoticons and other animations, just show up as a black background, making things hard to see. Please help me if anyone can without suggesting yet another compatibility mode as I have tried them all. Google has also proven to be useless as no one else appears to have this problem. Please help me if you can.

Also, if it helps, here are my system specs:
Intel 9550 (2.83Ghz) Core 2 Quad Processor
4GB Corsaire DDR3 1333Mhz RAM (Dual Channel Matching Pair)
2x Seagate 1TB HDD
NVIDIA GeForce 8800GX2 1GB Dual-Core GPU
TOPOWER 1200W PSU
Running: Windows Vista Ultimate 64-Bit

If you have any solutions for my problem, please email them to ilovekristi4eva@hotmail.com

Thanks in advance,
