Security comes in several layers I’m not talking about OSI. Seguridad viene en varias capas no estoy hablando de la inspección in situ.

1. Router Firewall / NAT. 1. Firewall Router / NAT.
2. Software Firewall (Application based firewall) 2. Firewall Software (Aplicaciones basadas en firewall)
3. Hostbased Intrusion Protection (HIPS) 3. Hostbased de Protección de intrusión (HIPS)

1. The first one is pretty simple either you have it or you don’t. El primero de ellos es bastante simple, ya sea que lo tengas o no.
My router I got with my broadband comes with NAT but no Firewall. Mi router me dieron con mi banda ancha viene con Firewall NAT, pero no.
NAT = Network Address Translation. NAT = Network Address Translation.
NAT offers a nice first layer of defense for hackers, because they need to figure out what the internal network is. NAT ofrece una agradable primera capa de defensa de hackers, debido a que necesita es calcular qué es la red interna.

The internal network can be easy to figure out on a specially crafted website, there are several websites that show your internal IP address on your network. La red interna puede ser fácil de averiguar en una página web especialmente preparada, hay varios sitios web que muestran su dirección IP interna de su red.
