Firefox met zijn standaardconfiguratie integreert niet goed met kde. Nu zult u hoe te opstelling firefox als standaardcliënt in de volgende twee gevallen zien

1 ) Het klikken op een e-mailverbinding in een webpage zou tot een nieuwe e-mail met kmail moeten leiden.

Het begin firefox en typt het volgende in de urlstaaf: ongeveer: config

Een grote lijst met configuratieopties zal in het belangrijkste browser venster verschijnen.
Zoek het punt network.protocol-handler.external.mailto en zorg ervoor zijn waarde aan waar wordt geplaatst. De waarde is het recht het meeste stuk van tekst in de rij voor dat punt. Klik op die lijn met de rechtermuisknop en selecteer †œtoggle†� indien nodig in het pop-up menu aan knevel. (meer…)

While using FireFox search tab (for any search engine) after you type the query and hit enter the search result opens up in the same page. Sometimes this is a nuisance when you every time have to open a new tab before doing the search. Here is a solution to this problem.

Temporary:
After you enter the query and FireFox search bar instead of hitting enter hit alt+enter. And you get the search result in new tab.

Permanent:

FireFox when compared to IE has many features which can be turned on and off. Users can play with the tweaks for enhanced user experiences. Here is a short tutorial on how to speed up your internet connection with FireFox. Follow these steps:

1. In FireFox address bar (where you type the website address) type about:config and hit enter.
2. In filter box just below the address type in network.
3. Then scroll down half way untill you see network.http.pipeling. Click on the right column to change the value to True.
4. Now below this row change the value of network.http.pipeling.maxrequests to 10.
5. Then click ok and restart FireFox.

Mozilla applications render web pages incrementally - they display what’s been received of a page before the entire page has been downloaded. Since the start of a web page normally doesn’t have much useful information to display, Mozilla applications will wait a short interval before first rendering a page: by default, Firefox doesn’t try to render a web page for 250 milliseconds while it’s waiting for data.

If you use about:config to add the Integer preference nglayout.initialpaint.delay, and set the value to 0, Firefox immediately starts to display the page, even without complete data (lower values will make a page initially display more quickly, (more…)

By default, the about:config preference UI automatically detects localized preferences and displays the localized setting. But if you are a hacker working on customizing the default settings, this can be very confusing.
