Taking a peek at Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED running on Dell PCs

Last week in Redmond I had the pleasure of taking a look the PCs from Dell running Windows Vista Ultimate (PRODUCT) RED. The line-up includes the Dell XPS M1330 and M1530 laptops, the Dell XPS One, and Dell’s 948 All-in-One printer. And all of them of course in red! Using Windows Live Photo Gallery, I’ve uploaded some shots I took of the (PRODUCT) RED line-up to Flickr to share with everyone - enjoy.

Checking out Dell’s Vostro 1500 Business Laptop

Dell Vostro 1500

Two weeks ago my new Dell Vostro 1500 arrived. Dell’s Vostro Notebook line-up is a relatively new line-up of laptops that cater to business users. While I love the Tablet PC experience the HP tx1000 offers, I was in need for something a little more powerful. I’m the type of guy that likes to feel like I am taking my desktop PC with me when I travel.

After looking at the specs for the Vostro 1500, I decided to customize it for some added benefit. Here are the specs on my Vostro 1500:

  • Memory - 2GB DDR2

Installing Mac OS X Leopard on a PC

…“You can build your system for a lot less than a real Mac and get the performance of a top-dollar Apple machine. This is fact and a lot of the real Mac users will deny, but it is fact. My machine runs a e4300 Core Duo Processor over-clocked to 3.40 GHZ. Where can you get a 3.4-GHz Mac? It will cost you a fortune. I have 1066-MHz DDR2 memory. Where can you get that on a real Mac???”

“Why run OS X? Well, when you are just used to Windows, it is like living inside a house and not experimenting the whole world out there. Once you get out of it, it is just amazing. Mac is just that: You just feel like glued to the computer. Everything is just beautiful, the interface, the stability. Once you experiment it, you don’t want to go back to windows.
