  5. Serrez ENTRENT pour insérer la date entière.

Enabling Windows Firewall Logging In Vista

Windows Vista includes the Windows Firewall component that is designed to protect your computer when you are connected to another network. If your computer is connected to a public or untrusted network such as the Internet, it is recommended you enable it. In Windows Vista, the Firewall is enabled by default.

You may want to take this one step further and monitor the type of traffic that is being discarded by your firewall. This can be done by enabling security logging using the steps outlined below.

  1. Click Start | All Programs | Administrative Tools | Windows Firewall with Advanced Security.
  2. Click Windows Firewall Properties.
  3. Select the appropriate profile tab: Domain Profile, Private Profile or Public Profile.
  4. Click the Customize button under the Logging section.
  5. Use the drop down arrows beside Log dropped packets and Log successful connections to select Yes. This will enable logging for the option you select.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Ok to save your changes to the firewall configuration./ol>

Once you enable security logging, information is written to the pfirewall.log file that is stored in the Windows directory.

Disable Password Protection In PowerPoint 2002

Your first thought after reading the title is likely ‘Why would I want to disable password protection for my presentations?’ Any presentations that have been password protected in PowerPoint 2002, cannot be opened in earlier versions of PowerPoint, even if the user does know the password. This is because PowerPoint 2002 was the first version to introduce password protection and earlier versions do not support it.

By disabling password protection, you can eliminate any problems that may occur when sharing presentations with users that have earlier versions of the application. On the other hand, if you never share your presentations, this tip is not for you.

You can disable password protection using the steps that are described below:

  1. Within your PowerPoint presentation, click Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Edit tab.
  3. Under the Disable new features section, check the Password protection option.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.

Prevent Meeting Requests From Being Deleted In Outlook 2002

When another Outlook user sends you a meeting request, it appears within your Inbox for you to either Accept, Decline or in some cases, completely ignore. Once you respond to a meeting request it is automatically deleted. The only way to return to the meeting request to view the contents of it is to open up the meeting within your Calendar.

If you prefer, you can prevent Outlook from automatically deleting meeting requests once you’ve responded to them. This can be accomplished by completing the steps listed below.

  1. Open Outlook
  2. From the Tools menu, click Options
  3. On the Preferences tab, click E-mail Options.
  4. Click the Advanced E-mail Options button.
  5. Clear the check box beside the Delete meeting request from Inbox when responding option.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Click OK to close the E-mail Options window.

Click OK to close the Options window and save your configuration changes.

Automatically Clear The Contents Of The Pagefile (Windows Server 2003)

When multiple users share computers, privacy becomes an issue because you don’t want the next person who sits at the computer to know what you were doing. You can make Windows secure and ensure your privacy in a network environment by opening the local security policy on your PC. In Windows Server 2003: Open the Start menu, select Control Panel, and double-click AdministrativeTools. Double-click the Local Security Policy applet. Expand Local Policies in the left panel and select Security Options. Scroll to the bottom of the list and double-click the option to Shutdown: Clear Virtual Memory Pagefile. Select the Enabled…
