L'expérience

Noël nous avons pris le temps pour une petite expérience interne. Avec seulement un budget limité de autour des USA $900 nous avons voulu établir une machine nouvelle qui peut manipuler Crysis sur les arrangements élevés. Nous devrions noter que des arrangements très élevés sont réservés pour maintenir Crysis futur-imperméabilisé, juste comme ultra étions dans le cri lointain.
En même temps que l'ea que nous avons regardé fait des emplettes dedans autour le monde et a acheté les pièces de matériel pour remonter notre machine à partir de l'éraflure. Tandis que nous avions un budget à l'esprit, nous avons voulu nous assurer toujours que cette machine aurait le matériel de dessus-entaille tel qu'un processeur multinucléaire ou une carte des graphiques DirectX10.

Comme vous le verrez des 8 minutes de vidéo que nous avons enregistrée, fabuleux absolu de sembler de Crysis sur les arrangements élevés avec ces configuration et courses très sans à-coup sur une résolution 1280×720. Ils montrent que les endroits différents de la campagne de Crysis Singleplayer avec tout placent à la haute.

Microsoft has released the Windows Vista Service Pack 1 (SP1) ‘Release Candidate’ (RC). This is the last step before the official SP1 is released in the first quarter of 2008. Note that this is still not official code, so there could still be bugs (but hey, there will still be bugs in the official release as well). If you install this, you will most likely need to remove it before installing the final release.

If you have a fast network connection, the easiest way to install will be with one of the stand-alone installers, which include everything you need to get rolling. Just pick which one you need, based on if you are running 32-bit (most common) or 64-bit, and what language you are using (choose from the last two if you use multiple languages).

The Windows Vista Team Blog just announced that Windows Vista SP1 Release Candidate (RC) is available today on Microsoft Connect. Tomorrow it will open up to Technet and MDSN subscribers, and finally, next week, it will be available to the public through Microsoft’s Download Center. Availability for the final version of SP1 is still slated for the first quarter of 2008.

Among the information given about the release, the download is much slimmer than it was, presumably due to removal of debugging code. It also requires less space to install, and will properly notify you if you don’t have enough space. For administrators, there will be a ‘blocker’ available (information available tomorrow), to prevent the service pack from installing. Many of use made use of this when SP2 came out for Windows XP, allowing us extra time to test and plan deployment, without worrying that the pack would automatically be installed through Windows Update.

Google announced that they have launched a new web-based application for the Apple iPhone integrates its multiple services into a single interface. The new application is based on AJAX/Web 2.0 technologies and is launched when an iPhone user visits http://www.google.com.

.09 percent may seem like an extremely small marketshare but when you consider that the iPhone has only been selling for 5 months and for most of that time was in one – albeit large – market (the U.S.), that share is amazing. Add another .01% for the iPod touch and Apple mobile platform is one out of every thousand pageviews across the Internet.

The WindowsCE platform - all of the Windows mobile platform devices put together - only managed 66% of iPhones market share. How many WinCE devices are out there? According to Gartner, MS and its partners shipped over three million Windows Mobile devices in Q1 2007. They’ve been selling WindowsCE devices since 1996 - over 10 years.

In under two quarters, Apple’s handheld platform has passed Microsoft’s over a decade-old mobile platform in terms of browser use.

Obviously this doesn’t translate to handset marketshare. We know there are much more than 20 million Windows Mobile devices out there. The reason that Apple’s browser marketshare is higher while its unit sales are much lower is explained easily by the oft-touted Mobile Safari browser and unlimited AT&T data plan.
