Internet Explorer 7 è attualmente il browser più usato universalmente, secondo le statistiche rese disponibili da Net Applications. Liberato in un anno fa per Windows XP SP2 e l'assistente 2003 di Windows, il browser si è sviluppato al dicembre 2007 ad una percentuale del mercato di 40.61%. Con la conclusione di 2007 inoltre viene dethroning dell'Internet Explorer 6, dalla posizione dominante sul mercato del browser. IE6 attualmente rappresenta 35.18% ed è il secondo browser usato nel mondo, seguito vicino Firefox 2.0 nel terzo posto con 15.80%.

Tuttavia, malgrado lo sviluppo costante quello Microsoft sta trasportando con l'Internet Explorer 7, contrariamente a IE6, gli utenti hanno non riescono a prendere un lustro immediato all'ultima versione del browser dello IE. (più…)

Microsoft è nient'altro che uno spectator semplice allo spettacolo di Firefox del Mozilla dei rilasci. Una nuova versione del browser aperto di fonte ora è disponibile per il trasferimento dal sistema centrale verso i satelliti. Mozilla ha trasportato Firefox 2.0.0.10, un aggiornamento di stabilità annunciato fin dall'ultima settimana. Firefox 2.0.0.10 può essere afferrato immediatamente via questo collegamento, ma Mozilla inoltre servirà il rinfresc via la relativa infrastruttura dell'aggiornamento ed in questo senso, gli utenti saranno avvertiti di nuova configurazione. Con questo rilascio, Mozilla ha tappato tre fori di sicurezza nel browser. Referer-spoofing via il difetto di stato della corsa di window.location, vaso: Il rischio di schema XSS del URI ed i fori che coinvolgono la corruzione di memoria sono le vulnerabilità riparate con Firefox 2.0.0.10.

While completely failing to breathe a single word on Internet Explorer 8, Microsoft is still focused on the copy of the browser that originally shipped with Windows XP. In this context, the Redmond company announced that it is introducing an update to Internet Explorer 6 running on the 64-bit editions of Windows XP and Windows Server 2003, in order to alter the browser’s behavior when managing ActiveX controls.

The 18.9 MB update dubbed WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB912945-x64-ENU.exe is up for grabs since November 13, 2007. “This update includes minor changes to how Internet Explorer handles some web pages that use Microsoft ActiveX controls. Certain webpages will require users to manually activate Active X controls by clicking on it or using the TAB key and ENTER key. This update contains all previously released security updates,” Microsoft informed in the overview of the release. (more…)

A new version of Firefox is available for download. On October 19, Mozilla made available an update to its open source browser, taking the version build from 2.0.0.7 to 2.0.0.8. The version numbers are not a clear indication of the evolution between the two Firefox variants. According to Mozilla, over 200 issues impacting the Firefox browser were addressed by the 2.0.0.8 update. However, at the same time, the extent of the modifications introduced by Firefox 2.0.0.8 also affected the functionality of the browser regressing a handful of aspects.

On October 22, Mozilla promised to update the Firefox 2.0.0.8 update in order to take care of the problems generated by the refresh.
