Quando avete Estensioni del lato del cliente di preferenza di politica del gruppo (GPP) (CSE) trasferito voi noterà che non sono (ancora) in .MSI disposizione - così usando Installazione del software di politica del gruppo (GPSI) non è possibile. Bummer, destra!?

Abbiamo .EXE lime per Windows XP/2003 e .MSU lime per Windows Vista… Ma quella non è l'unica cosa che dobbiamo pensare circa. Prima che “schierando„ queste cose ai clienti sulla rete che dobbiamo conoscere l'OS versione (XP/2003/Vista), l'OS architettura (bit 32 o 64), Assista il livello del pacchettoe se o non la preferenza di politica del gruppo Requisiti preliminari (WmlLite - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914783/en-us) sono installati.

Per rendere tutto questo facile grazioso ho generato “un demo„ scritto per schierare il GPP CSEs usando scritto Startup - o un lancio manuale (nel contesto di admin). Il mio buon amico Jeremy Moskowitz chiesto me per fare questo - così, una coppia delle ore più successivamente “il demo„ - o„beta“- lo scritto è pubblico (trasferimento dal sistema centrale verso i satelliti qui sotto)…

Nota: Non ho potuto esaminare in tutti i piani d'azione ancora, ma nella I *pensi* sono tutti pozzo grazioso coperto ormai. Prego parte posteriore di rapporto se trovate qualunque problemi - affatto risposte è benvenuto!

Benvenuto a “La ricerca per il filtro santo del tavolo WMI„, ciò è una ricerca globale di che cosa potreste chiamare “Il filtro perfetto del tavolo WMI ". A WMI filter which, by using WMI Query Language (WQL), should be able to spot DESKTOP computers only. It should be a general query - meaning it should be possible to use the filter in most Active Directory environments around the globe for Group Policy filtering.

So, what is a desktop really? Well, actually in this case we'll say it's the opposite of a laptop. Hmm, then what is a laptop? Easy enough: a computer with a battery! We've got the WMI filter for finding laptops already:

Select * from Win32_Battery  - don't you just love the simplicity in this query?

This filter will make a computer with a battery respond back with "TRUE" (because the WMI class instance is present), meaning a GPO with this filter will apply to computers with batteries. Simple right? And you might think it's easy to just "turn it around" to find desktops, like:

Select * From Win32_Battery Where Availability != 2
  or
Select
