Windows 7 Will Stretch into the Cloud

Windows-7-Will-Stretch-into-the-Cloud-Beyond-Vista-SP1-and-XP-SP3-2 If you think that Windows Vista, or Vista Service Pack 1, or even Windows XP Service Pack 3 are the apex when it comes down to the Windows operating system, then you should reconsider…

Microsoft revealed that Windows 7 would go beyond both Vista SP1 and XP 3, to deliver an entirely new experience for the end users. Windows 7 will not only bring to the table a completely overhauled Windows core, featuring a stripped down kernel and a redesigned graphical user interface, but it will also expand the user experience beyond what Vista and XP are able to offer today.

How to disable annoying Divx Tray Icon (Settings Manager)

This little annoying tray icon may irritate you, if you are like me, you dont like things popping up for no good reason. Here is how you disable it, but read the description because by doing so you lose some functionality (that you may not care about though).

Download the free tool from the divx site here:

http://support.divx.com/cgi-bin/divx.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1630

Direct link > DivX Toolbar Toggle Tool

Description: This tool turns on and off the DivX Toolbar (DivXSM.exe), which appears by the system tray when you play a DivX file. Notes: If you turn the Toolbar off, you will not be able to control the advanced features of DivX Media files in third-party media players, and the DivX video decoder may run with default settings.

Disable Password Protection In PowerPoint 2002

Your first thought after reading the title is likely ‘Why would I want to disable password protection for my presentations?’ Any presentations that have been password protected in PowerPoint 2002, cannot be opened in earlier versions of PowerPoint, even if the user does know the password. This is because PowerPoint 2002 was the first version to introduce password protection and earlier versions do not support it.

By disabling password protection, you can eliminate any problems that may occur when sharing presentations with users that have earlier versions of the application. On the other hand, if you never share your presentations, this tip is not for you.

You can disable password protection using the steps that are described below:

  1. Within your PowerPoint presentation, click Options from the Tools menu.
  2. Click the Edit tab.
  3. Under the Disable new features section, check the Password protection option.
  4. Click OK to save your changes.
