Surface is the first commercially available surface computing platform from Microsoft Corporation. It turns an ordinary tabletop into a vibrant, interactive surface. The product provides effortless interaction with digital content through natural gestures, touch and physical objects. In essence, it’s a surface that comes to life for exploring, learning, sharing, creating, buying and much more. Soon to be available in restaurants, hotels, retail and public entertainment venues, this experience will transform the way people shop, dine, entertain and live.

It’s a super cool next-gen interface which reminds us the Movie Minority Report. In the movie Tom Cruise uses pair of glows and does lots of gesture to interact with a large computer system. Even Defense Company Raytheon, based in Massachusetts, US, is working on a real version which is very identical to the technology in the movie. But this one from Microsoft is the first commercially available surface interface system.

Microsoft Surface recognizes hardware devices like cell phones, cameras by just placing on it and can transfer data just by dragging from one device to another. It seems it can even transfer credits from credit cards.
