Microsoft Not To Raise Bid For Yahoo!

Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft Corp, Steven Ballmer was adamant and refused to raise its $44.6 billion offer for Yahoo! Inc. The CEO of Washington-based Microsoft said, “We know what Yahoo is worth to us. We offered a lot of money: $44 billion. It is not a lot of euros anymore. If their board thinks that's fair, great. If not, we'll move forward,"

Ballmer did clarify as to what he meant by ‘moving forward’. He however clarified that Microsoft would not make a bid for Google primarily for regulatory reasons.

Yahoo! has four days before Microsoft's deadline to agree to its offer or face a hostile takeover fight and risk a lower bid. Earlier Yahoo! had rejected Microsoft’s offer and had argued that it's worth more than the $31 a share in cash and stock that the latter offered. Yahoo! management and directors have said Microsoft's cash-and-stock offer "significantly" undervalues their company.

Meanwhile, Yahoo! also announced its first-quarter financial results on April 22nd. These results were closely watched as these could make a statement in themselves and coax Microsoft for a higher bid. Revenue, excluding the amount paid to advertising partners, rose to $1.35 billion. That beat forecasts of $1.32

No place like 127.0.0.1

So, I'm back home from a great trip to Seattle, Washington, US. The MVP Summit 2008 was a cool experience with lots of info and room for dialog with the product teams at the Microsoft Campus in Redmond.

We had some awesome talks on the future of Group Policy and I would really like to share it with you, but because of Non-Disclosure Agreements 'n' stuff I can't really say anything - yet.

Seattle is a very interesting city with a lot of great restaurants, nice architecture and friendly people. I had 2½ day to spend after the summit and even though I was missing my family Seattle took great care of me :)

Anyway, I hope to go back there next year - better prepared for jetlag (which basically means I'll travel a few days before the event next time) - but, that all depends on how much time I get to share information with you guys/girls out there... No sharing, no MVP award - that's the rule ya' know ;-)

Thanx to the GP team and the other MVPs for a great experience!

Microsoft Video: Your/My Digital Lifestyle

Its a cold horrible day here in New Zealand (winters on its way! :( )…
Whilst sitting in the college comp labs I stumbled across a really cool video from Microsoft that they are pushing out to undergrad students here.

This video, with its really catchy tune did infact brighten up my day. I know it’s only an ad about software but in a way I can relate to it somehow-a normal geeky guys, Digital lifestyle!

The video is usually shown at Microsoft’s events and apparently usually generates quite a good responce.
Most Microsoft products featured in this video, including Windows Mobile, Zune, XBOX 360, and Windows Media Center fall under the Entertainment & Devices (E&D) division at Microsoft….
…And that’s what the videos all about here at my college-recruitment and the Come work here message…

 …One day!

On a side note I realize this blog has been dead for a while, but ill post anything when I get the time :)
