eMachines offers New Desktop Solutions

Whether you are at work or at home, eMachines seems to have something in store for you. Recently, eMachines has introduced a new line of desktop PCs which include entertainment and productivity applications that heed the needs of most PC users today.

Computers are a daily need and depending on the nature of using them, eMachines seems to have them covered. These desktop solutions are paired with a 17” LCD monitor along with a 15-in-1 memory card reader that allows users to interface for the need to upload photos, videos and music files.

It all boils down to budget. High-end computers do not come cheap and apparently most PC solution seekers today command a high degree of requirements on a limited budget. That is not an easy task. You have to pay the price for technology and apparently eMachines have been trying to work on these constraints to appease its market.

We have seen a lot of new innovations in the PC world and some sacrifice some benefits and peripherals for the sake of getting at least close to their required specs that can serve their needs. For most people today, this dilemma is only normal and getting the right

Why Force Consumers to Use Windows Vista?

Other than being one of the most sought after software today, Microsoft is indirectly commanding is to operate according to their wants. This obviously stems from the fact that most people today would be wise to use a Windows Vista since Windows XP will no longer be in the market if you need to reformat or buy a new PC.

But it gets better. Along with this notion comes the understanding the your PC has to be the latest in the market. Banking on the old ones may get you into problems such as slower computing and eventually banging your head on the wall because your PC is so slow. We all know that people want speed when they work or use their PC and apparently if you put both these developments together, you need to be wise in spending and buying your next computer station.

For most it may seem unfair. Being forced to upgrade your hardware and software is something that not all people can easily do. For one thing, thanks to the contribution of the economic crisis, any average consumer would want to save as much as possible.

In short, computer upgrades are common for companies or

Lenovo Making Big Risk on Desktop Market

Practically all companies today are apprehensive on the flow of the market and for Lenovo, taking another crack at a faltering marketing in the desktop division seems to be a move that will certainly draw varied criticism on the timing of its market penetration efforts towards the desktop computing sector.

Apparently, the risk is quite high. No one knows what the future of the desktop computing industry will hold. But with their fingers crossed, apparently Lenovo is banking on a turn for the better any time soon, making a move that most companies would save for later when something clearer sets forth.

Lenovo which bought the PC division of IBM in 2004, has been a prominent figure in the laptop market. With its brand, its association with IBM is something that has carried it towards strides in better business. But as far as desktop computing is concerned, it can really be seen as something as starting once again from scratch.

To kick off their campaign, they have introduced into the market the IdeaCentre K210 Desktop last June 30 towards the consumer desktop market outside of China. But the weird thing about it all is that while other large computer companies

Tiny Compressors for Better PC Cooling to be launched

The temperature levels in most computers today have a significant impact on a PC’s performance. We know of the usual auxiliary fans required to serve as added ventilation but in some cases, the proper cooling for these chips are not enough. Cooling is important and while the fans are trying hard to negate the rising heat levels from using internal chips and processors, Purdue University has reportedly developed a tiny refrigeration system that will surely help a lot as far as CPU temperature levels is concerned.

This is indeed a welcome development considering that many people are forever relying on additional cooling systems for their CPU or laptops.

“Traditionally, you use a fan to blow air on a chip — room temperature air,” said Garimella. “If I could push chilled air onto the chip, then I get a lot more cooling.” The devices are designed to dramatically increase the amount of heat that can be removed from a computer, he added.

The system pumps refrigerants through tiny compressors and tubing. The technology could be integrated into a microprocessor, or it could replace a computer’s traditional air-cooled heat sink.

The new cooling technique will probably be used first in gaming systems and then

Humanitarian Issues to be Resolved by Computers

We have heard on how computers have been pegged to change most issues in everyday living and today we are on the brink of seeing them resolve humanitarian issues through the World Community Grid.

Apparently this has to do a lot with research. Computers are known to be your best bet towards soliciting information through the web and compiled programs through optical storage and for sure this will help enhance the educational level that most people are longing for.

The issue normally stems from the fact that technological investments are pricey. It would take a good Samaritan to make it all work. But today, thanks to the efforts of IBM and the VOA, this stepping stone is within reach. Along with millions of volunteers to make this work, do not be surprised to see another point for technology to the good guys!

The IBM corporation started the World Community Grid more than two years ago. The company continues to provide advice and support to the project. Stanley Litow heads community relations for IBM. He says anyone in the world with a computer connected to the Internet can join the project.

Volunteers download a program from the World Community Grid Web site. Every so

Windows XP SP3 on AMD Chips Showing Problems

Applying the patches and service packs issues by Microsoft Operating Systems are usually seen to be solutions to improve and safeguard Windows users but apparently there are issues surrounding the type of processor that is in use. If you use an Intel based processors, chances are you will not be having much trouble installing and rebooting your system. The real problem really exists when AMD processors are being used and much of this lies in the configuration.

Apparently, to be able to adhere towards the proper specifications, some tweaks have to be done to the main processor of AMD based units to accept the new add-ons and patches offered periodically. Normally, you will have issue after applying the updated patches and this becomes a cause for consideration on whether people should install the service packs or not.

Ideally, installing these patches is a good way to be able to safeguard your computer from threats around the web. But in some cases like this AMD issue, it would be best to be open to proper installation and compatibility issues. In short, as a user you should be able to research and find proper troubleshooting tips so that you can avoid messing
