Recently I’ve testing games on Windows Vista some of my old games. Some of them just plainly won’t work on Windows Vista, and yet about 6 out of 10 games that I’ve tried and install. They all seem to work if your UAC is disabled and have set them on Compatibility Mode. So If you think Vista is crappy OS think again. Windows Vista has lots of power and options waiting to be discovered.
Here’s a Solution to Disable the UAC.
Disabling UAC
- Click Start
- Go to Control Panel.
- Go to User Account and Family settings
- Click the Add or remove user account option.
- Select your user account.
- Click the Go to the main User Account page option.
- Click the Change security settings option.
- Remove the check beside the Turn on User Account Control (UAC).
- Click OK.
- Restart the computer.
Setting the Compatibility Mode in Vista
- Right-Click on the Icon of the Application you want to cofigure
- Select Properties
- Go to the Compatibility Tab
- Check Run this Program in compatiblity mode for:
- Select Windows XP (Service Pack 2)
- On the Settings part
- Check Disable Visual Themes
- Check Disable Desktop Composition
- Check Disable Display Scaling on high DPI settings
- Click Ok
