Mañana, el martes 8 de enero, estamos lanzando varios paquetes de la actualización de la no-seguridad vía la actualización de Windows. Las actualizaciones incluyen el filtro malévolo mensual regular del correo de la herramienta del retiro del software y de chatarra del correo de Windows, dos actualizaciones en nuestras series regulares de actualizaciones de Windows Vista (KB943302 para la compatibilidad del uso y KB943899 para la confiabilidad y el funcionamiento), y una actualización de aviso particular: KB935509. Similar a las actualizaciones anteriores que realzaron el funcionamiento y la confiabilidad de Windows Vista, estas actualizaciones serán distribuidas automáticamente a través de la actualización de Windows.

El lanzamiento de mañana KB935509 es un poco diferente que más allá de actualizaciones. Es un requisito previo para instalar SP1 y es aplicable solamente para Windows Vista los usuarios últimos y de la empresa, porque afecta solamente las versiones de Windows Vista que apoyan el cifrado de la impulsión de BitLocker.

Esta actualización modifica el cargador del cargador para permitir acertado instala o uninstall del paquete del servicio si la PC utiliza el cifrado de BitLocker. Ahora lo estamos lanzando para poner la base para las actualizaciones futuras y para eliminar cualquier reboots del suplemento instalándola junto con las actualizaciones que requieren ya un reboot. Windows Vista SP1 RC ahora disponible para la transferencia directa pública

Estamos haciendo hoy disponible el lanzamiento de RC de Windows Vista SP1, encontramos aquí en MSDN y aquí en TechNet, con un FAQ aquí. Le invito a que descargue, instale y utilice el SP1 RC y nos dejo saber sobre su experiencia proporcionando su regeneración aquí.

Antes de que usted instale SP1 RC, considere por favor los puntos siguientes del consejo, detallados en este artículo corto:

  • Si usted tiene una versión anterior de haber instalado beta SP1, usted debe uninstall él antes de instalar RC.

The right time to assess Windows Vista’s performance

Measuring the performance of an operating system is a tricky thing. At the same time, it's the right and necessary thing to do, because performance is one of many criteria important to customers. Part of the trick of measuring performance is to time testing execution with the product cycle such that the results are as meaningful as possible for customers; this helps them make a better decision by making use of the full array of available information. As one example, about a year ago we commissioned a firm called Principled Technologies to conduct a study comparing Windows XP SP2 to Windows Vista RTM. That study found the performance measures of the two operating systems were within the same range for many tasks that home and business users frequently perform under real-world conditions.

My point is that we waited to conduct these benchmarking tests until Windows Vista had reached the RTM milestone in the product cycle, as this allowed us to provide our customers the most meaningful data available at the time -- the data most likely to directly affect their decision to upgrade to Windows Vista. Uninstall Windows Vista Service Pack 1

Microsoft is well on its way to delivering the first service pack for Windows Vista. Currently, the exact availability date for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is up in the air, Microsoft having offered only a general timetable that points to the first quarter of 2008. And with Vista SP1 intimately connected with Windows Server 2008, formerly codenamed Longhorn, at kernel level, the first service pack for latest Windows client from Microsoft is synchronized with the company’s last 32-bit server operating system. The official launch of Windows Server 2008 has been set for
February 28, next year, and Vista SP1 is bound to keep up the pace wit the server platform.

In mid July, Microsoft debuted the testing of Vista SP1 outside of Redmond. A preview of the first beta of Vista SP1 shipped to a select pool of testers at that time. (more…)
