Wij stellen vandaag de versie RC van SP1 van het Uitzicht van Vensters ter beschikking, vonden hier op MSDN en hier op TechNet, met een FAQ hier. Ik nodig u uit om SP1 RC te downloaden te installeren en te gebruiken en ons te laten van uw ervaring op de hoogte zijn door te verstrekken uw terugkoppel hier.

Alvorens u SP1 RC installeert, te houden gelieve de volgende gedetailleerde punten van raad in gedachten, in dit korte artikel:

• Als u een vroegere versie van SP1 Bèta geïnstalleerdw hebt, moet u het voorafgaand aan het installeren van RC desinstalleren.
• Dit is pre-versiecode en zal vóór de definitieve versie veranderen.
• Deze pre-versiesoftware wordt verstrekt voor testende slechts doeleinden. Microsoft adviseert niet installerend deze software op primaire of opdracht-kritieke systemen.
• Microsoft adviseert dat u steun uw gegevens voorafgaand aan het installeren van om het even welke pre-versiesoftware.
• SP1 van het Uitzicht van vensters de Kandidaat van de Versie is tijd-beperkte software. Het zal niet meer na 30 Juni, 2008 werken en zou voorafgaand aan die datum moeten worden gedesinstalleerd.
• De steun is door zelfhulp en peer steun via SP1 van het Uitzicht van vensters forum. De bijgestane steun (telefoon, e-mail en online praatje) is niet beschikbaar bij de Steun van Microsoft voor deze versie RC van SP1. De steun is niet beschikbaar via dit blog.
• Als u Pak 1 van de Dienst de Kandidaat van de Versie installeert, adviseert men sterk dat u ook van plan bent om de definitieve versie van SP1 van het Uitzicht van Vensters te installeren wanneer het in de eerste wordt vrijgegeven

Het meten van de prestaties van een werkend systeem is een netelig ding. Tezelfdertijd het het juiste en noodzakelijke te doen ding is, omdat de prestaties één van vele criteria belangrijk voor klanten zijn. Een deel van de truc van het meten van prestaties is aan tijd testende uitvoering met de productcyclus dusdanig dat de resultaten voor klanten zo zinvol mogelijk zijn; dit helpt hen een beter besluit nemen door de van volledige serie van beschikbare informatie gebruik te maken. As one example, about a year ago we commissioned a firm called Principled Technologies to conduct a study comparing Windows XP SP2 to Windows Vista RTM. That study found the performance measures of the two operating systems were within the same range for many tasks that home and business users frequently perform under real-world conditions.

My point is that we waited to conduct these benchmarking tests until Windows Vista had reached the RTM milestone in the product cycle, as this allowed us to provide our customers the most meaningful data available at the time -- the data most likely to directly affect their decision to upgrade to Windows Vista. We do a whole range of performance tests at every stage of the OS development process, but, as a general rule, we avoid sharing benchmark tests of software that hasn't gone RTM (i.e., final code). Microsoft is well on its way to delivering the first service pack for Windows Vista. Currently, the exact availability date for Windows Vista Service Pack 1 is up in the air, Microsoft having offered only a general timetable that points to the first quarter of 2008. And with Vista SP1 intimately connected with Windows Server 2008, formerly codenamed Longhorn, at kernel level, the first service pack for latest Windows client from Microsoft is synchronized with the company’s last 32-bit server operating system. The official launch of Windows Server 2008 has been set for
February 28, next year, and Vista SP1 is bound to keep up the pace wit the server platform.

Windows Vista SP1 Beta includes changes to improve performance, reliability, security and application compatibility.
