Got a PC Problem? Find it Online

Aside from PC Extreme, there are a lot of sites you can check out online for PC repair tips. It can range from hardware to software and will entirely depend on what anyone who has problems with a PC is concerned.

The tips you can get on the web do not usually have to be professional in nature. In fact, the simpler terms used towards guiding people who need to repair their PC is better. Not all people are technically versed on PC terms and making it simple, using synonyms that makes it generally easy to understand will surely be more appreciated for novice PC repair specialists who want to avoid having a technician do it for them and pay professional fees in the process.

Such a recourse is not a cheapskate person. It is something like learning what you can to understand your PC better and avoid these mistakes in the process. The only way to learn in the world of technology is through hands on. Some may call it risky but the fact is that as much as possible, if you can try to resolve the matter with your own efforts, then the better.

The learning process is

Deciding to Reformat Your PC

One of the hardest things to decide on is when to format your computer. When you format your PC this means permanently erasing all files that are on the computer including system and program files. Of course, before that is done, it is presumed that the files have been properly backed up or burned so that they can be restored from a CD perhaps once the entire format process has been done.

Formatting a hard drive is perhaps the easiest way out when you encounter a lot of problems with your computer. Ordinarily, it is the last resort since having to re-install that usual operating system and the programs you use have to be done one by one. Overall it would seem like a lot of work but there are some cases where you just have to re-install everything from scratch. This results normally when:

1. You Have a Virus
2. You Encounter a System Crash
3. You change Hard Disk Drives
4. You bought a new PC

One thing you can look forward to though is that you have a completely new system to which you have done away with the crash and virus issues. For sure that is quite a load off. The process

Memory Chips Cannot Always Solve the Problem

We all know that the more memory chips you have, the better your computer will perform. We see people buying computers with practically 1 gig of memory installed in them, hoping that their computer speed will be more the sufficient to satisfy their requirements. But this does not always follow.

For one thing, some people forget, you cannot tweak or cheat your way out of computer philosophies. One overlooked component will eventually take its toll. For example, a lower processor will still have a bearing. You will encounter faster processes but insofar as overall computer performance is concerned, it still remains that your computer can only do so much to render the proper capability it was designed for.

Hence, more memory will not always certify a computer to perform in the same way high-processor capacity computers are expected to be. There will only be a small difference and that may not necessarily be acceptable for some. Normally, it may eventually lead to an entire upgrade as people have a high demand with regards to computer processes to which some processors falter in terms of computer load.

So while you are thinking the memory chips are enough, computer philosophy and programming

Improper Shutdowns Affect Hard Drive Life

There is a reason why proper shutdown of your PC is being advised. For sure, fluctuations and sudden stop of processes can have a toll and one of the key components that will immediately be affected would have to be your hard drive. Your hard disk is usually the computer part that carries your operating system and files and while they are not physically tangible, even programmers have a hard time trying to save files and systems due to a simple fault in proper PC shutdown practices.

To the average user it does not matter. He always has a friend or technician to restore his PC. But what if your whole PC crashes? What would you do next? If you have backups then fine. But what if you don’t have such and are plainly satisfied with doing these files all over again from scratch? It sorts of defeats the purpose of computers, a device that is known to make life easier for the ones trained to use them.

So while you are fine with constantly shutting it down manually, your computer is compiling errors and though there are software available to correct that problem, you never know when your computer

Put your Computer on Sleep Mode

Do you want to do your own small thing for the environment? Well you can start by saving on power when your computer is not in use. Yep, you can always set a timer or put it into sleep mode like lets say being idle for about 15 minutes or more. There is no sense in keeping your monitor live if you are not using your computer since other than being a waste of energy, you are probably adding some stress to the monitor as well.

Monitors have their own share of product life cycles. They have a specific number of useful years and if you are not careful, you may find yourself getting a new one unscheduled.

To some, there are issues. One of which is that of crash problems for computers that cannot hold the proper programming or hardware that is usually something that is common especially if you are using a chop-chop computer. In fact, some PCs may not even boot after they have been placed on sleep mode, most of which is due to some issues as far as load and processes are concerned.

Regardless, saving on power is something that is really the main issue

Housecleaning your Hard Disk

Chances are, no matter how large your hard disk would be, you will always run out of space. With new files and demands that the Internet supplied, you are bound to use up that space regardless of how large your gigabyte storage would be. So what is a person to do? Well for one, you can always clean up, delete unused files or burn them to a CD or DVD for later reference. But the question is which files would you still want?

Normally, documents and spreadsheets would be retained as they eat up lesser space on computers. Downloaded software, audio and video files would normally be the best space savers when it comes to deleting or backing them up for later use. For some, there will be files that they want to remain on their computer. But get real. It would be crazy to want all those files always there. Just leave out what you want.

For songs, it could be your favorite tunes. Videos can be a couple but not the ones where full length movies are bound to reach 4 gigabytes per file. Software would be best burned to a disk since one time installation would not no
