In primo luogo, accenda l'adattatore senza fili…

    • If you’re trying to connect to a security-enabled network, well that would require authentication (so I assume you have a network key which is either WEP or a WPA or a WPA2 encryption key)
    • Now when all info are enterd and done correctly it will show up as connected
    • Also you can modify the connection settings of the wireless network :
    • right click on the connected wireless network and choose “Properties”

For a more secure network on your home network it’s better to Use WPA to secure your Wi-Fi.

Make A ShutDown and Restart Shortcut

Most of us, at the first taste of Vista complained after we attempted to shutdown our laptop, later to find out that it was just on sleep mode. If you remember, I recently posted an article about Windows Vista Power Buttons and how to tweak it to your likes and preferences.  Now we’re taking it to the next step and we’re gonna create a shortcut for a more faster shutdown and restart without navigating the Windows Vista Start Menu.

    1. First Right-click on the desktop -> select New -> Shortcut
    2. On the shortcut box for the location, enter these commands, which correspond to the certain command

    To Shutdown Computer

    Shutdown.exe -s -t 00

    To Restart Computer

    Shutdown.exe -r -t 00

After you’ve enter the command click the next button and name the shortcut. Of course, for easier recall of the names use Restart Computer ( well, to restart the computer :) ) and so on.

Click Finish, the shortcut will now appear on your desktop ready and waiting.

Now you can either go with the default icon or you can change shortcut icon. Here’s how to do it.

    1. Right-click on the shortcut icon -> select properties.
    2. Click the Change Icon button
    3. Pick the icons in the system, or Browse for more icons that is more to your liking

    and that’s it. You’re done.

    Windows Vista Power Buttons

Windows Vista Power Buttons a new setup but a confusing twist, the button actually is set on sleep by default on my laptop, which is not particularly useful for everybody including me. When I want something off, I want it totally off. Now because of that confusion it caused me I’ll teach you how to set the power button to shutdown properly and not go on “sleep mode”. Let’s start, shall we? Ok, good.

    1. Click on the Start Orb
    2. On the search bar type powercfg.cpl press enter.
    3. Select the corresponding Power Plan (Power saver, High Performance, Balanced or other custom Plan)
    4. On the Power Plan that you chose, Click “Change plan settings” that is located below a plan
    5. Click “Change advanced power settings” look for Power buttons and Lid
    6. Now you can change the options
    1. Power button action - to change the way hardware power button functions
    2. Start menu power button - to change the way power button on the Start Menu functions

Now you’re all set apply the changes. no need to restart you’re computer, it should be working as it should be right now. You can either test it now or test it later it’s up to you. Happy tweaking!

    Windows Vista : DEP

Windows Vista : DEP or Data Execution Prevention nice security feature, but can be annoying at times if certain programs won’t run or the DEP caused it to shutdown because that’s what the DEP does best it monitors Windows Vista services and programs to protect our beloved computer from potentially lethal and harmful code, script from running in system memory locations for Windows and other programs which is also important for a successful running of Windows. When DEP detects or finds an attack in progress, it will shut the program and notify you through a pop up although you may not need a pop up for it because you already know there’s a problem since the program shutdown. The notifications are useful when the service or application that DEP prevented from running is on the background or on the system memory.
DEP protect Windows only by default setting. but you can have increased protection if you enable it to run on all programs and services. Now in some weird way some programs are having problems running once you enabled DEP on all programs and service try turning DEP off on that particular service, that’s having a weird problem.

Now here’s the way to turn DEP on for all Windows programs and services.

    1. Click the Start orb -> then go to Control Panel.
    2. On the Control Panel
    3. Click System and Maintenance then -> System -> Advanced System Settings.
    4. Under Performance, click Settings.
    5. Choose the Data Execution Prevention tab....
