As far as the blackout issue today that Microsoft has been embarking on, it is obvious that it is a crackdown on the illegal and pirated use of operating systems, particularly Windows XP. Aside from a sales pitch, could it be another approach to which people endorsing the much pronged Microsoft product are also being pushed towards the age of upgrading their operating systems to Windows Vista?

It does make sense. For one, we are fully aware that Windows XP will cease to be distributed and hence no more updates shall be unleashed. With that said, it looks like Microsoft is simply justifying its stand of pulling the plug on Windows XP, a much preferred operating system today compared to the buggy Windows Vista.

So on the consumer side, you have an option; turn off the automatic updates of your Windows OS. It is the best you can do right now and as the years pass, you are running with smaller options as further bugs may no longer be given patches nor updates. Hopefully though by that time, Windows Vista has already been perfected.

As far as hardware requirements are concerned, it is a fact that you have to upgrade

Now this is a unique and dazzling Vista theme. I’ve been waiting for a theme to come along that was different and packed full of surprises and my wait if finally over. I love all the red icons and the color scheme of the windows and task bar. All the buttons look great and the background of the bird in gray scale looks stunning. The start orb looks great and the location of the task bar is far superior at the top. If it wasn’t for the huge LDTF billboard at the bottom of the screen this theme would be perfect.

Colorful is one way of describing this theme. Simple and transparent is another way. This theme looks great with all the unique elements like the icons in the task bar and the bright background. Although this theme is not heavily modified, it provides you with a fresh design if you’re getting bored of your current theme. All and all, this theme’s strong points are the task bar and other then that it’s not that exciting.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about any cool icons, so I thought I’d post about this minimalistic icon set. I love all the icons in this package because they’re so nice and simple and you won’t get bored of them easily. I really don’t have a favorite icon in this set because they’re all so smooth. I know that this Vista icons pack will fly off the virtual shelf because of their unique design.

Simple yet classic. This carbon theme has a great background that reminds me of a little river I use to visit often. The rounded river rock look great with all the elements of this design. All the windows and buttons are simple black and sometimes you can’t see what the button actually does. This theme is not that heavily modified but it’s better then anything Microsoft could create.
