Como ao uninstall Windows Vista na configuração dupla do carregador

This goes for all the people who think Vista is a piece of shit and have decided to be loyal to XP.

Now here you need
VistaBootPro. Start Windows XP and launch VistaBootPro. Now Go to Manage OS Entries and then select the Microsoft Windows Vista entry. Click on the Delete button and confirm that you want to delete Windows Vista from the BCD Registry then you can close VistaBootPro.

Now you need open Computer Management tool, you can do this by bringing up the RUN box by Win key + R and then type “mmc compmgmt.msc” without quotes.

Select Disk Management from left menu. You will see a list with all your partitions, select the partition where you have installed Windows Vista, right click on it and choose Format.

Once you choose to format it will ask for certain settings, I recommend you to use the default settings for both and press the OK button.

How to Fix “BOOTMGR is missing” while booting windows Vista

Here you go for repairing:
1.Boot off the Windows Vista DVD and then click Next at the first prompt
2.You should see a link in the lower left-hand side for “Repair your computer”
3.The installation process will attempt to find your Vista installation directory. If there’s more than one in the list, select the correct one and then use the Next button again.
4.Click the first link for “Startup Repair”.
5.The installation process will repair the system, and then prompt for you to reboot.
6.Alternatively you could have chosen the Command Prompt option instead, and use the following command to fix the boot options only:

bootrec /fixboot

How to Disable Media Player automatic update in Vista

Windows Media Player in Vista has Automatic Updates enabled. This means that even if you never use Windows Media Player it still downloads the updates that come available for it, as soon as you have connection with the internet.

  • You can disable this by going by changing the following registry key:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\WindowsMediaPlayer]

  • Create a registry DWORD key named DisableAutoUpdate and give it a value of 1

Alternative method is to use the built in policy editor:

1. Click on ‘Start’ and in the ‘Start Search’ box type (without the quotes) “gpedit.msc”. When it shows up hit ‘Enter’
2. Now the group policy editor should be on screen, under ‘Computer Configuration’ expand ‘Administrative Templates’ - then expand ‘Windows Components - then scroll down to the ‘Windows media Player’ item and click on it to highlight it.
3. On the right side you should see a policy item named ‘Prevent Automatic Updates’ - right click on it and choose ‘Properties’.
4. Click the ‘Setting’ tab, then click the ‘Enabled’ radio button - then click ‘Apply’
5. There ya go, no more auto updates for Media Player.

Both of the above do the same thing, they both add the registry…

Change SuperFetch to Only Cache System Boot Files

Open regedit.exe through the start menu search or run box and browse down to the following key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\ Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters

Find the EnableSuperfetch key on the right-hand pane, and change the value to one of these:

  • Cache Boot Files Only: 1
  • Cache Applications Only: 2
  • Cache Everything (default): 3

You’ll have to restart your computer before this takes any effect. You could consider clearing out the \Windows\Prefetch folder after making this change to start with a fresh cache, but keep in mind that the next boot will probably be slower since Windows will have to cache everything again.
