Microsoft Windows Vista SP1 Update 32Bit RTM Build 6001.18000 Leaked

Vista fans, yup here is it! Long awaited Service Pack 1 in RTM version released .What RTM - ¡°Release To Manufacturing¡± does stands for? Well, in short it¡¯s exact same version which will appear in March aka final version. The leak is some kind of a standalone executable and has the build 6001.18000.080126-2040. Another leak has it as 080118_1840, but its a pretty early timestamp (18-01-2008) which suggests that its a fake. These builds are probably escrow and candidate for the final RTM.
Check wiki for more details about RTM. Keep in mind that this is only Service Pack 1 itself, it¡¯s not Vista SP1 ISO! So, you can download it and install on any (32bit) Vista edition. Also make sure to READ NFO for more details & explanation. For those ones who have pirated copy of Vista (well, who doesn¡¯t?), I¡¯m not sure will this work with that popular OEM BIOS emulation crack by PARADOX (Microsoft¡¯s states something like - No way dude).

You might want to take a look here too RTM Build 6001.18000

Download Windows Vista SP1 RC Refresh

On January 11th, Microsoft released another version of it¡¯s Vista SP1 code, this one called ¡°Windows Vista SP1 RC Refresh¡±. Like the other service packs, this one is primarily available through Windows Update, by changing a setting in your registry. You can download the small CMD file (and instructions) that will do this for you from this page.

You`ll need to uninstall any other previous beta or RC SP1 code, and if you haven¡¯t installed one before, then there are certain other updates that you`ll need first. There is a read me file in the that will guide you with the installation and then keep visiting Windows Update until everything is installed.

Non-security update rolls out Tuesday

Tomorrow, Tuesday 8 January, we are releasing several non-security update packages via Windows Update. The updates include the regular monthly Malicious Software Removal Tool and Windows Mail Junk Mail Filter, two updates in our regular series of Windows Vista updates (KB943302 for application compatibility and KB943899 for reliability and performance), and one update of particular notice: KB935509. Similar to previous updates that enhanced Windows Vista¡¯s performance and reliability, these updates will be distributed automatically through Windows Update.

Tomorrow¡¯s KB935509 release is a little different than past updates. It is a prerequisite for installing SP1 and is applicable only for Windows Vista Ultimate and Enterprise users, because it only affects versions of Windows Vista supporting BitLocker Drive Encryption.

This update modifies the boot loader to enable successful install or uninstall of the service pack if the PC uses BitLocker encryption. We¡¯re releasing it now to lay the groundwork for future updates and to eliminate any extra reboots by installing it along with updates that already require a reboot. For more information on the update, see KB article KB935509 (which will be posted on Tuesday morning).
