Disable Autoplay for Windows XP

Disable Autoplay of Audio CDs and USB Drives for Windows XP because of the annoying feeling I get Everytime I insert CD¡¯s on my Laptop on my Windows XP box. I just want it to run when I want it to run not to ¡°autorun¡± so here¡¯s how you do it

  • go to Start Menu
  • go to Run
  • and type gpedit.msc

After Typing gpedit.msc you will see the Group Policy window. Go to Administrative Templates -> System in the tree view now look on the right side and ¡°turn off autoplay¡±. Double click on the item, to change and ¡°Turn off Autoplay on¡± to All Drives. It¡¯s your choice if you want all drives.
