Windows XP Service Pack 3 Leaked Details!

As you all may know that the Windows XP SP3 has been released to the manufacturers (RTM) yesterday,but the ends users will be able to download only by 29th april via Windows Update and the Microsoft Download Center.There are many people who cant wait till 29th april to install this final version of Windows XP SP3.A group called ZWT has obtained and released it to the scene with the name
"MICROSOFT.WINDOWS.XP.SERVICE.PACK.3.v5.1.2600.5512.RTM.ENGLISH-WZT".

The moment that Windows XP users have been waiting for. Today Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) goes RTM.

What’s in SP3?

Here’s what you can expect from XP SP3:

* All previously released Windows XP updates, including security updates and hotfixes.
* Also contained are some out-of-band releases.
* A small number of new OS enhancements.

5573 Does Not Imply a Specific XP SP3 Build

Microsoft is not saying much at all about the third and final service pack for Windows XP, and whatever information does manage to get through the translucent filters implemented by Steven Sinofsky, Senior Vice President, Windows and Windows Live Engineering Group,
presents little relevance. A recent reference related to XP SP3 is Build 5573 from KB951126. Judging by the fact that XP SP 3 Release Candidate 2 Refresh 2 was Build 5508, speculation began circulating of a new version number 5573, that could even be the RTM build for the service pack. I contacted Microsoft on the matter, and this is not the case.

"The reference comes from 'A multiprocessor computer that is running Windows Vista or Windows XP stops responding on a black screen after you resume the computer from hibernation' . The file versions discussed on the Microsoft Help and Support page, referring to a hotfix for Windows XP SP3, are accurate," a Microsoft spokesman revealed in an email to Softpedia.

Windows XP SP3 Release Dates

Neowin has managed to get our hands on the internal schedule for the release of the highly anticipated update to the aging operating system. As you can see in the list below, most of the stages will occur before the end of the month, though forced automatic updates won't land until June.

  • April 14, 2008: Support is available for the release version of Service Pack 3 for Windows XP
  • April 21, 2008: Original Equipment Manufacturers, Volume License, Connect, and MSDN and TechNet subscribers
  • April 29, 2008: Microsoft Update, Windows Update, Download Center
  • June 10, 2008: Automatic Updates
