Western Digital Unveils 2TB Hard Drives
Hard drives just get bigger and bigger. And it seems Western Digital takes pride on being the first to introduce it in the market. The latest storage capacity of hard disks today has been the terabyte and Western Digital became the first to launch its first 2 terrabyte hard drive that will initially come out in the Australian markets.
At the time of writing the 2TB, 32MB cache, 7200RPM drive is available at Mwave for AU$377.80, Mtech Computers for AU$374.99, Opalia Computers for AU$380 and PCMarket for a pricier AU$411.90.
Earlier, Seagate already introduced a large capacity hard drive in the 500 GB hard disk, the 7200.12 series. But now that Western Digital holds the distinction of being the first hard drive manufacturer to release the terabyte hard drive, expect Seagate and the other hard disk manufacturers to rush their production so that they don’t get left behind.
