Windows Vista SP1 6001.16633 Review
As mentioned last week a new version of Vista SP1 was released to testers, 6001.16633.070803-1655. This version is a standalone update pack that can be installed in any edition of Vista RTM and is not a fully integrated SP1 ISO unlike the previously released 6001.16549, so let’s take a look what this version contains.
Here is the .exe file as it was delivered;
If we unpack it, we see that this version contains the following updates;
windows6.0-kb936330-X86 694 211 KB (UnPacked: 1,68 GB)
windows6.0-kb937287-X86 3 999 KB (UnPacked: 14,2 MB)
windows6.0-kb937954-X86 62 KB (UnPacked: 169 KB)
windows6.0-kb938371-X86 2 281 KB (UnPacked: 2,56 MB)
As you can see this is 1 more than the previous version, KB935509 and KB937954 is new. KB937286 is removed from this version. Unpacked this Service Pack is enormous, just over 1,7GB.
So lets install it and see how it looks :)
The installation process involves no less than 3 restarts before it’s done….
As already mentioned the build number has changed, also the the Service Pack version is upgraded, now we are at v.249
