XLGuarder, also known XL Guarder, is the latest counterfeit anti-spyware software that creates hassles for computer users around the world. Just like most fake antispywares, it issues misleading and exaggerated issues. XLGuarder usually installed itself onto your PC without your permission, through Vundo Trojan, Virus or fake software. XLGuarder will display fake system alerts or fake security alerts to trick user to buy the paid version of XLGuarder, in order to remove the potential and reported problems. Not only does it cause your machine to slow down dramatically, it would also put your privacy and data in risk.

I had the problem that XL Guard would prevent access to anything else. Here’s a simple solution.
Open Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete). Stop XL Guard using “End Task”. Then click on “New Task” in the lower right corner.
In “Create New Task” type “explorer.exe” and clck O.K.
The desktop icons should come back and you should be able to launch programs and access files on the computer.
Download Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware free from http://www.malwarebytes.org/products.php.
Install, update and run a scan with Malwarebytes. Follow the prompts and remove the infected files. You will probably need to reboot.
This worked for me.
