I have to tell people not to deal with this company. I fell for this also but I got rid of the pop up by going to SYSTEM RESTORE and backdated my computer to a date before the pop up appeared. I tried removing all the files but for some reason, I could remove every single thing I had from the lists above but I was never able to get rid of wininet.dll in system32 shlwapi.dll in system32 also. Folks, the way to deal with this type of company is to call your credit card company and tell them you want to dispute the charge. I have this xp antivirus 2008, i thought it was from a microsoft update, but i dont even remember downloading it. It must have happened shortly after i updated my computer via a manual update to windows service pack 3 it took ages i have checked and it appears on the computer specifications window. I tried the 2008.exe uninstall—-said it did it–2 seconds later–guess what–yep–it was still there–I re-started my comp.-bu that didn’t work either. I downloaded for the same reason thinking I had 150 viruses andd now my computer is all messed. I was fed up and checked about every website dedicated to ridding this bulls**t and got lucky on about the second maybe third site.
